June 20, 2016 6:34 PM EDT

Two separate wildfires are burning in California’s San Gabriel Mountains as of Monday evening, with blazes spread across more than 2,000 acres.

The first blaze broke out near Azusa and prompted a mandatory evacuation of the Mountain Cove community, the L.A. Times reports. While firefighters responded to the scene, a separate fire began nearby in Duarte, prompting evacuations of nearby homes. According to the L.A. County Fire Department, responders are working in very dry conditions and temperatures above 100 degrees.

Neither fire has been contained so far.
